Copper Spiral Birds

Ive been hand crafting these ceramic birds since I lived in Cairns, inspired by the black crows and iridescent starlings that filled the suburbs. I love the gentle simplicity of form, with the hint of mystery swirling in the copper spirals, symbolising energy and imagination.
The birds are made from terracotta clay, mounted on wood collected outside my studio in Brisbane, and accentuated with copper wire spirals.
